~ Mon 5/12/08: created this weeks blog page.

~ Mon 5/12/08: spent hour chucks of weekend working on XP Pro upgrade bug with printer failing to reset spooler. then spent hour chunks working on system crash at former wife’s house. Then had the pleasure of spending another 3 hours today. 45 minutes on a second call Dell support and the remainder on install, uninstalling, rebooting, etc. until finally I fixed the problem. It was one of those days that included a final trip to the courthouse after receiving a ticket for failing to signal on a lane change while driving the speed limit, driving safely, with no cars around me [except for motorcycle cop somewhere] at 6:25 am on Mopac. BTW, had a perfect driving record for over a decade prior to the is ticket. It has been an amazing experience to go through the dysfunctional court system trying to fight a traffic ticket: Seven trips to the courthouse, several hundred dollars, countless hours lost in drive time, court time, defensive driving time, etc. I could write pages about my experience of the justice system. The crime definitely justified the punishment… LOL This is a blog, therefore, I am taking liberties that a blog offers by sharing aspects of how personal life and life at large has an impact on startup performance and focus. Sometimes miracles occur and sometimes it’s just getting stuck in messes that occur. Either way it is all perfect; and that’s my story and I am sticking to it.

~ Mon 5/12/08: back to business… over the weekend I finished the customization of the online recruiting application. It is now going live. I am ready to actively recruit employers, job hunters, and bootstrappers. Creating three years of pro forma financial statements is the next big project to complete. I did not get it completed over the weekend. I have started to print and review other industry related business plans to give me more data and information to reference in creating a hybrid JobStrap revenue and operations model.

~ Tue 5/13/08: set two new appointments. Worked on ACF application; what remains to be done is creating the financials. Today was filled with personal responsibilities such as being a father to my daughter who needed guidance and love after making a very poor choice for herself.

~ Wed 5/14/08: was not a productive day.

~ Thu 5/15/08: did some networking and conversations. Feeling a bit under due to sinus infection.

~ Fri 5/15/08: today was a day of conversations and setting appointments.

~ Fri 5/15/08: made some updates to Major Projects page. Still needs further updating to be completely current.

~ Fri 5/15/08: 6:23 pm haven’t started preparation for camping weekend trip to Eldorado, Texas for my son’s third mountain bike race. This is the last race for the season and then competitions start again in September. Stopping JobStrap tasking to attend to my commitment to my son.

~ Fri 5/15/08: well here it is 8:41 pm and I am NOW finished working. It could be a late evening and a very early early morning at a 5:00 am wake-up time to be on the road at 6:00 am… LOL

~ Mon 4/21/08: created this weeks blog page

~ Mon 4/21/08: worked on iapplicants setup. Started to think through different employment scenarios and field data requirements to support Employer (14 states), JobStrap (14 states+ 3 States + 4 states), Applicant (3 states) and still verifying combinations and resulting dependencies on fields and data values, data constraints. Created spreadsheet to use as a work space.

~ Mon 4/21/08: feeling a bit off, low energy, needing more sleep.

~ Tue 4/22/08: worked on pro forma financial statements, revenue projections, fees, etc for each class of job applicant. Created matrices for: (1) Applicant Gross Monthly Income Target [used with target monthly Gross Income to determine optimum ratios for pay rate to hours worked in a week], (2)(a) Applicant Revenue Matrix Bootstrapers [Accepted into program], (2)(b) Applicant Revenue Matrix Not-Accepted [Non-Bootstrapers , and Bootstrappers Not Accepted into program].

~ Tue 4/22/08: made graphic images of matrices to be posted and used in materials. Will update graphics when Revenue Matrices have more elaborate formula controls. Right now Revenue Matrices are a bit crude as tools to project revenue.

~ Tue 4/22/08: used part of the afternoon to investigate a business opportunity that may generate excellent cash flow. Still evaluating opportunity, market demand, and my ability to effectively manage it as a part-time income source. I have a friend who might be interested in participating in the income opportunity. More later.

~ Tue 4/22/08: second day of feeling a bit off, low energy, needing more sleep.

~ Wed 4/23/08: worked-up this morning feeling almost normal… HA! Ha! ha!… *wipes-off droll* and *notes to himself it almost looks like froth on a cappuccino*

~ Wed 4/23/08: did more edits to pages: Target Income and Revenue Worksheets What a pain in the ___ to try to get graphics to fit blog format. I tried various ways to improve image quality be displaying a different file types, sizes, etc.

~ Wed 4/23/08: just completed the form to customize the setup of the recruiting application. This is a big deal if my customization effort makes the application ready and usable by JobStrap, job applicants and employers. I will be posting a link to the application and user information as soon as it is available. Next major tasks is to complete application form and create/attach required business documents for fiscal sponsorship by ACF. After that is one to the Texas C-BAR application for legal services.

~ Wed 4/23/08: need to put in an order today to further liquidate what little I have left my only remaining investment, pay a penalty to financial institution, pay a penalty to IRS, and pay taxes on income. Need to have funds in my bank account to pay May rent, bills, gas, food, etc. Can you guess who is going to be the first bootstrapper to post on the soon to be released recruiting application?… LOL

~ Thu 4/24/08: To see and use the new recruiting application go to http://jobstrap.iapplicants.com I will be working on customizing this late afternoon and putting in the first postings! I now have to put some more attention on ACF application for fiscal sponsorship.

~ Thu 4/24/08: just created new page “Jobs & Funds”, edited copy, and posted JobStrap’s recruiting application link.

~ Thu 4/24/08: updated my website www.jobstrap.org with some new text, minor formatting changes to text and graphics, add a link to new recruiting application http://jobstrap.iapplicants.com

~ Thu 4/24/08: called a friend to discuss a new income opportunity that I am exploring. I will be continuing to evaluate it and discuss it with people I know over the next couple of weeks. Demand may be sufficient to pursue it and it may be a way for me to offer work to a few bootstrappers and create some income to live on. So far it looks viable with a gross profit of approximately 75%. Very low entry costs too.

~ Fri 4/25/08: been working all morning on ACF application for fiscal sponsorship. I am making excellent progress towards completing it. Taking a break to do some networking with fellow bootstrappers at a local “Jelly” meeting.
